Prayer Focus: The World

Bible Reading: John 1:1-3; Psalm 8, 104

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? (Psalm 8:3-4)

I love to gaze upon the stars and moon on a clear night. It amazes me that the huge moon merely reflects light while the tiny lights of the stars are enormous balls of fire, many larger than the sun. I am so small in comparison to the celestial creations that God spoke—some believe He sang—into existence, yet God loves me. He cares about me. My concerns are important to Him, big or small.

God saved His greatest art for day six, the creation of humans. Unlike animals and other creations, we are created in His image. We are special. We are loved.

Awesome God, thank You for loving me…and creating a beautiful planet and sky for me to enjoy.
