Bible Reading: Psalms 26; 40-41; 58; 61; 62; 64

One thing God has spoken,
two things have I heard:
that you, O God, are strong,

and that you, O Lord, are loving.
Surely you will reward each person
according to what he has done.

(Psalm 62:11-12)

If God were strong and unloving, He would be an evil dictator. If He were loving but not strong, He would make us feel good briefly…until He was overcome by those more powerful. He is, instead, a benevolent Master whose strength is matched only by His love.

These verses are not only reassuring for the reasons stated in the Observations, but also because of the promise at the end. He will right all wrongs. He will honor the righteous and punish the unrighteous. Justice will prevail. No sacrifice made for the cause of Christ will go unnoticed. It’s going to be worth it!

I praise You, LORD, for Your strength and love. I need both. I love, worship, and adore You for there is none like You, none stronger and none more loving. You are the best! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
