Prayer Focus: Lesotho

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 17-20

Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;  save me and I will be saved,    for you are the one I praise. They keep saying to me, “Where is the word of the Lord?
Let it now be fulfilled!”     Jeremiah 17:14-15

Observation –  Even in the sobering times Jeremiah lived in which he prophesied the great tragedy that was coming to Judah.  Even as he pleaded with the leaders and people to turn from their evil ways…. leaked out the secret that as Christians we hold dear.  The Lord will heal us, the Lord with save us….. for HE is the one we praise.

Application –  The nation of Judah were following after false Gods, the people of Judah were sacrificing their children, the leaders of Judah were scoffing at the will of the Lord.  Its scary how when you read the book of Jeremiah it is all too easy to edit in the name of USA.   Many in the US rush after all manner of Gods and worship idols and consult mediums, we commit all manner of atrocities in the name of freedom and live in ways that would make Sodom and Gomorrah blush.  Could we be on our way to Babylon?

Prayer –  Lord heal us Lord, save us Lord, for you are the one we Praise.  Lord help us to be strong to bring your word to the people, the leaders and the priest  that our nation will turn to you and Praise you.  Help us to live each day as if tomorrow we could suffer the fall that Judah suffered, but help us also to know that you heal us and you Have already saved us.  Even as Jeremiah prayed, Lord help us that call you Father not suffer the fate of those that scoff and ridicule us for your sake.   In Jesus Christ name, Amen.
