Prayer Focus:  Moldova, Monaco,

Bible Reading:   Ezekiel 17-20

Scripture –

The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel:

“‘The parents eat sour grapes,
and the children’s teeth are set on edge’?

“As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel. For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die. EZ 181-3

20 The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them. – EZ 18: 20-21

27 But if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, they will save their life. 28 Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die. EZ 18:27-28

Observation – Have you sinned today?  I know I have.  All of us are sinners, each and everyone of us.   We are all deserving of God’s Wrath.  But here, tucked away among the  destruction of Jerusalem, we find the basis of God’s plan for redemption.  Turn away from wickedness and sin and  keep the Lord God’s statutes and we can live.

Application –  We need to confess our sin and atone for it everyday.  We need to turn away from those things that make us stumble and turn toward the things that bring us closer to God.

Prayer –  Lord Jesus, thank you for paying for my sin upon the cross.  You came not just for my sin and but the whole worlds sin.  Thank you for being the atoning sacrifice for us all.  Help us to turn away from sin, and turn toward the SON.  Amen.
