Prayer Focus:  Thailand

Bible Reading:  Acts 17:1-18:18

Scripture –  24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

Observation- In Acts 17 and 18 we study Paul as he brings the Good Word of Salvation to the people of Thessalonica, Berea, Athens and Corinth.  During his time of testifying, Paul makes them to see that God is bigger than statues and temples and any man made thing.

Application – Are we any different than the Greeks of Paul’s day, the world chases after idols of many kinds.  Money, houses, cars are some of the things we worship.  A lot of people bow down at the twitter alter to sports stars, political stars and movie actors.  But our God is bigger than all of that, he created the heavens and the earth and everything within them.  He also loved us so much that he laid it all down to provide for our salvation.

Prayer –  Thank you Lord for being the maker of Heaven and Earth, for making us, loving us, and providing for us.  Thank you for being bigger than any temple, but yet personal enough for us to call you Father.  Amen
