Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 1-5

We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.  (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3)

On this, the week of Thanksgiving, it is fitting that we reflect upon the way Paul was thankful for the church in Thessalonica. It is obvious that they were a special group committed to the LORD and a blessing to Paul.

These verses reminded me of Scio Community Church. I am so thankful to God for all of you—especially during this challenging season for my immediate family. We are grateful for the prayers, encouragement and support. I write this from Cleveland, thinking about how loved we are. My ultimate application is below.

Awesome God, I thank You for Scio Community Church, both the individuals and the collective body. Thank You for their work produced by faith, their labor prompted by love, and their endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. I cannot imagine life without community. You have blessed me and my family with incredible brothers and sisters. Thank You for the model of community that You demonstrate through the Trinity—Father, Son and Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
